Weekend of Wonderful Things, Yorkshire Sculpture Park 15/07/2017
interact & connect present Theremin Bollards sound sculptures. Take part in your own improvisational performance. Theremin Bollards are accessible and innovative sound sculptures designed for music-making without the need for technical skill that offer an experience for spontaneous and improvisational performance.
All ages and abilities are invited to drop-in at the Learning Tent to explore how these amazing instruments produce a rich tapestry of expressive sound through movement. You don’t need to know music to play them, just move.
This event is part of YSP’s Weekend of Wonderful Things. Click here to find out about our other unique events.
Electric Fence Installation, Hull Minster, Hull 04/07/2017 30/09/2017
The Electric Fence, an interactive installation with a bold message, will run throughout our Freedom season. A striking interactive art installation will appear inside Hull Minster next month, bringing with it an important message about equality and human rights. The Electric Fence, created by artist Annabel McCourt, makes use of some of the latest electronic and sound technology to create a multi-sensory experience, hoping to challenge people’s perceptions of hate crime.
The artwork is inspired by hate crimes experienced by the LGBT+ community around the world, and the dark horrors that have been inflicted on the community throughout history.
